The beginning of the story is a sentence heard, an examination, and a courage to risk everything.
In 2003, Hu Jianyuan, a native of Huoqiu, heard the name “Lande Goose” for the first time from his younger brother – “A 7-kilogram goose can grow up to 1 kilogram of liver!” This rare goose species, originally from France, and one of the “world’s three great delicacies” behind it, goose fat liver, ignited a raging flame in his heart. He resolutely gave up the already thriving cement prefabricated panel business and went to Shanghai and Guangzhou for inspection, witnessing firsthand the enormous potential of the high-end foie gras market.
Although his hometown Huoqiu once suffered setbacks in goose fat liver farming due to breed issues, what Hu Jianyuan saw was the wetlands along the Huai River without industrial pollution and abundant crop resources – undoubtedly a natural advantage for breeding high-end goose breeds. In the Spring Festival of 2004, carrying all his belongings and full of passion, he used his savings of 50000 yuan to buy back 1000 Lande goose seedlings and built a simple shed by his own field.
Produce green food, create a well-known trademark, and never make any money at a loss. “- This simple vow originated from a memorable setback.
In 2005, when Hu Jianyuan went to Shanghai to promote his first batch of hard work, he was rejected due to being “unlicensed and unqualified”. This rejection did not knock him down, but instead made him determined: he must build a foundation with standards and win the market with quality.
As a native of Huoqiu, Hu Jianyuan firmly believes that “the development of enterprises must prosper together with the villagers.” He innovatively implements the model of “company+cooperative+family farm+breeder”, providing farmers with goose seedlings and free technical training, and purchasing at a protective price, completely solving the problem of “difficult breeding and sales” for farmers.
The story of Lao Li, a farmer in Huayuan Town, is a microcosm: in 2010, he fell into poverty due to a disaster and received 50 goose seedlings and technical guidance with the help of Long Xiang. This year, his income has steadily increased by 70000 to 80000 yuan, completely changing the fate of his family.
As of 2023, Longxiang has successfully driven more than 140 upstream and downstream enterprises and employed over 5000 people, helping the total output value of the goose industry in Huoqiu County approach 2 billion yuan. The former “remote and impoverished areas” have transformed into the renowned “hometown of Chinese foie gras”.
Rooted in the deep foundation of Huoqiu, it gives Longxiang full confidence to go global.
In the past, the high-end foie gras market was monopolized by foreign countries. Now we want the world to know that China can also produce top-quality foie gras
With excellent quality, Longxiang foie gras has not only entered Michelin restaurants in Beijing and Shanghai, but also been exported to markets such as Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Longxiang’s brand vision is becoming increasingly clear: to make “Longxiang Goose Liver World Enjoyment” an undeniable Chinese symbol on the global high-end food map.
Twenty years ago, when I raised the first batch of Lande geese, I thought it could fly to the world
On this journey, we have stumbled and hit walls, but we still firmly believe that Long Xiang’s roots lie in Huoqiu, and his soul lies in his quality. Our unchanging creed is to exchange sincerity for genuine gold and build a foundation with standards.
This career cannot be separated from the sweat and trust of the villagers. In the future, I will continue to carry this hope and let more people taste the delicious Chinese foie gras, making ‘Longxiang foie gras’ a shining’ Chinese business card ‘on the world’s dining table
